Breed Standards
Labradoodles and Goldendoodles come in three (approximate) sizes:
Coat types:
Generation Scale:
Multi-Generation: Many generations of Labradoodles/Goldendoodles bred to Poodles, Labradoodles/Goldendoodles, the last thing we want is to pure breed this wonderful mixture of the F1 and True F2, so my breeding program stops at the F2 level. I have considered F2 to F2 for F3.
******I do not breed Labradoodle or Goldendoodle miniatures, this breeding produces puppies that have potential deformities, health and temperament issues. Understanding this is important if you are considering a Min Doodle, this mix contains a standard size female Lab or Golden average 55 lbs bred with a Min Poodle average 8 to 10 lbs. The outcome can be devastating to the puppy and the new owner. If the pup takes the gene size/structure of the Min Poodle you could end up with a Doodle that will weigh in excess of 50 lbs, be built like a Basset Hound and suffer terribly because the skeletal system was not meant to carry the body mass.I know breeders that insist on giving the public what they want no matter the cost, it's all a part of making the $$$$.
By age 4 weeks you can tell by the growth pattern and the structure/conformation of the pup, wide elongated bodies, short legs are signs that this pup may mature deformed, because the breeder knows the customer will not be happy and does not want to be stuck with the pup, they are killed, culled whatever you want to call it, it is wrong and this is where you see the breeder in the benefit of the breeder, popularity of the breed and for the $$$$. The benefit here should clearly be for the breed. You can get quality multi generation miniature's that will remain very small, but the price here is $$$ and due to multiple back-crossing, the % of Poodle can be 90 to 99%, you might as well just buy a miniature Poodle.
